A new trailer for Disney's Wish has been releasing, revealing more about the upcoming animated adventure. Directed by Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn, Disney's latest film follows a young girl named Asha as she deals with a trouble-making celestial body who descends from the heavens following her wish upon a star. The Wish voice cast includes Ariana DeBose as Asha, Alan Tudyk as Valentino, Angelique Cabral as Queen Amaya, and Chris Pine voicing the villainous Prince Magnifico.

Now, ahead of the Wish release date, Disney has shared a new trailer for the film, teasing the film's impressive animation and a very villainous turn from Pine's Magnifico. Check out the trailer below:

In addition to revealing story details and hyping the film's animation, the trailer also provides a first look at many of the supporting characters, including Asha's cloest friend Dahlia (Jennifer Kumiyama), Simon (Evan Peters), Gabo (Harvey Guillén), Safi (Ramy Youseff), Hal (Niko Vargas), Bazeema (Della Saba), and Dario (Jon Rudnitsky).

What The Wish Trailer Reveals About The Movie

Wish is Disney Animation Studios' first feature film since last year's Strange World, which was a major bomb at the box office. The upcoming animated adventure looks to be going back to Disney's roots in many ways, not veering into science-fiction and instead leaning into strong characters and catchy but emotionally-resonant songs.

The new trailer reveals much more about protagonist Asha, showing brief glimpses at her home life and teasing her connection to Prince Magnifico. The story is set into motion after Asha visits Magnifico, who has the power to grant his citizen's wishes, and discovers that he only grants a select few wishes that he deems helpful for his city. Unhappy with the prince crushing so many dreams, Asha herself wishes upon a star, bringing a cheerful and mischievous star down from the heavens, angering Magnifico in the process.

In addition to showing off a beautiful animation style that incorporates more nighttime vistas than usual, the trailer also provides the first sampling of one of Wish's songs. Songs are crucial elements of every animated Disney movie, and DeBose's impressive vocals are put on full display. The trailer also, of course, teases that the movie will have plenty of humor, much of which seems to come from Tudyk's talking goat, Valentino. So far, Wish has the makings of a Disney classic.
