Inspired by Kid Cudi's lifelong love of Star Trek, the “Boldly Be” campaign draws from the Star Trek philosophy of IDIC (Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations), the basis of Vulcan philosophy that the vast variables create truth, beauty, and strength. Kid Cudi's appearance at NYCC also brought the rapper's star power to the Star Trek Universe panel on Saturday, October 14, and at the NYCC Star Trek x Kid Cudi booth all weekend.

A rap superstar the magnitude of Kid Cudi collaborating with Star Trek gives an even bigger boost to Star Trek's musical presence. At NYCC, Alex Kurtzman told Kid Cudi his own son is "obsessed" with the rapper, and this is just one sign of how Star Trek x Kid Cudi: "Boldly Be" can expand the influence of the franchise into a whole new fanbase. Kid Cudi's Star Trek-inspired tracks also add to the huge success of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' first-ever musical.

The soundtrack to Strange New Worlds' musical episode, "Subspace Rhapsody," with songs written by Letters To Cleo's Kay Hanley and Tom Polce, topped the Apple music streaming charts. Strange New Worlds' musical soundtrack and the song "We Are One" are also being presented for Grammy Awards consideration. The mainstream appeal of the Star Trek brand continues to grow, and Kid Cudi's collaboration, "Boldly Be," is an important step to take Star Trek into all-new frontiers of fandom.
