American Horror Stories season 3 trailer gives a glimpse at scary new horror tales to come. A spinoff of the hit anthology series American Horror Story, American Horror Stories is a series of standalone anthology episodes. American Horror Stories has thus far gotten two seasons on Hulu, and will soon get a season 3 on October 26.
FX Networks has now released a trailer for American Horror Stories season 3. The trailer is populated by creepy images and hints at four new tales titled “Daphne,” “Tapeworm,” “Organ,” and “Bestie.” American Horror Stories season 3 will premiere as part of Hulu’s Huluween event. Will American Horror Stories Season 3 Deliver to AHS Fans?
The American Horror Stories season 3 trailer reveals some of the main series plots—including a cannibalism angle—though still leaves audiences guessing about the specifics of the stories. Themes of parasites seem to be present in “Tapeworm,” whereas “Daphne” seems to hint at the twisted relationship between humans and technology. “Organ” sees the harvesting of human organs, whereas “Bestie” seems the most dubious, featuring some unspecified form of torture.
American Horror Stories has been a mixed bag thus far. Unlike American Horror Story, which takes on season-level plots, American Horror Stories is an anthology series at the episode level, likening it more in structure to a show like Black Mirror. As such, American Horror Stories has proven inconsistent throughout its first two seasons, with many viewers thinking that it is a diluted version of the far better American Horror Story.
That said, the beauty of an episode-level anthology is that American Horror Stories has the ability to reinvent itself each episode. Not all of its upcoming plots may stick, but taking on themes as perverted as organ harvesting and tapeworms as a form of weight loss give American Horror Stories the potential to explore unique and engaging horror plots. Hopefully, some of these promising plots will pay off as American Horror Stories season 3 kicks off on October 26.
