Ahsoka features two iconic droids with origins in Star Wars animation and while Ahsoka Tano's co-pilot and former Jedi trainer Huyang may have the most screen time so far in the current Disney+ series, it's Chopper from Star Wars Rebels who has the wildest personality.

It's that wildcard nature of Chopper, an astromech droid officially codenamed C1-10P, that makes him such a fan favorite. To celebrate Chopper's return to live-action, after a brief cameo in Rogue One, Hasbro has released the Star Wars Chatter Back Chopper Animatronic which we've been playing with for a few weeks to review.

The Chatter Back Chopper makes for a wonderful display item with its weathered look and design which features three posable arms, two of which Chopper can move on its own. It's lightweight, made of plastic, until putting opening up the figure's rear panel with a screwdriver to insert the required four AA batteries, giving it some heft. Even before closing the panel, Chopper will make a sound upon adding batteries.

STAR WARS CHATTER BACK CHOPPER ANIMATRONIC 12

Hasbro's Star Wars Chatter Back Chopper Animatronic makes more than 40 sound and movement combinations that genuinely look and sound like the character straight from the television screen. Most importantly, the team has successfully captured his personality (minus his lethalness, of course). The figure even responds to sound, music, and calling out his name.

Standing at 7.5", a little taller than your standard Black Series figure, the Chatter Back Chopper can lean and shift using his side legs, can rotate is head, and swing its side arms up and down while making sounds. The unit does not drive around but moves slightly forward and back based on its full body movements. Once activated, Chopper will continue communicating in the only way he knows how, eventually going silent unless you manually turn him off with the single power button on the front panel. This same button can be pressed in several combinations to have Chopper move and speak as well.
