Love Is Blind season 5 only saw two couples head to the altar, but Renee Poche and Carter Wall got engaged on the hit Netflix reality series as well. Criticism of Love Is Blind season 5 abounds, with complaints of poor casting, cutting of important couples, and too much messy drama. One of the couples allegedly cut from filming was Renee and Carter, who got engaged in the pods and even made it to the altar.

While the Love Is Blind season 5 reunion didn't air live after disastrous attempts during season 4, the drama was still intense, but Renee wasn't there to tell her story. Assessing the fallout between Izzy Zapata & Stacy Snyder, their treatment of Johnie Maraist, and Lydia Velez Gonzalez & Milton Johnson's marriage occurred, but Renee and Carter weren't invited. The love triangle between Uche Okoroha, Aaliyah Cosby, and Lydia was at the forefront of the season, and tensions between Taylor Rue and JP Pierce reached a boiling point. However, there was nothing about Renee and Carter. Are they still together?

Renee And Carter Broke Up During Love Is Blind

Renee revealed more information about her relationship with Carter through an exclusive interview with Popsugar. Couples like Paige Tillman and Josh Simmons got engaged, but Netflix chose not to follow them. However, Renee clarified this was not the case for her and Carter. Renee revealed, "We did get engaged in the pods, and we were chosen to be followed for the rest of the journey. We did go all the way to altar, but we did not get married. We fell in love with each other in the pods."

Although Renee said no to getting married, her and Carter's journey was filmed in its entirety from pods to the altar. Production contacted Renee to share she wouldn't be heavily featured on the upcoming season, and she and Carter would be painted as friends from the pods and members of the pod squad in subsequent episodes. However, Renee could be seen wearing an engagement ring in the BBQ scene and sat with her mother and best friends in the wedding dress shopping scene. Production cut this scene to make it look like she was there as a friend of Lydia's, but as she was dressed in white and had her own entourage, it was a dismal attempt at covering up her status on the show.

Renee Got Married To Someone Else After Love Is Blind

Rumors surrounding why Renee and Carter were cut began swirling in early October, with information regarding Renee's marital status fueling some of the gossip. In her interview with Popsugar, Renee clarified she got married to someone else in March 2023, but she was single during filming for Love Is Blind. According to the reality TV star, she matched with her new husband years ago on a dating app, but their relationship never went anywhere. After she and Carter broke up, she reconnected with him, and they chose to get married.

Renee has been getting louder on social media, sharing that Stacy told her Carter had brought another woman to their apartment during filming. She has also shared a post of her wedding dress and unseen behind-the-scenes photos of her time during the bridal shopping. Additionally, she has spoken out repeatedly about her obvious dislike of her pod bestie Taylor's ex, JP. Carter has been deafeningly silent on social media and doesn't seem poised to speak out on their failed relationship.

It's unlikely the "Renee cut" will ever be released, as there are rumors Carter threatened self-harm if the footage was ever released. Rumors regarding problematic comments and cheating have swirled around Carter, and no clear answers exist. Renee was a popular Love Is Blind cast member who deserved to move on. While the reunion and interviews provided some answers, much of Renee and Carter's failed relationship is doomed to remain a mystery.
