90 Day: The Last Resort fans criticized the spin-off show’s therapists for trying to convince Big Ed Brown and Liz Woods to stay together. Big Ed, 56, and Liz, 30, have been a part of the franchise since 90 Day: The Single Life season 1. Big Ed was dumped by his girlfriend Rose Vega, who's from the Philippines, thanks to his constant lies as well as shaming her. Big Ed began dating Liz after coming back to America. Big Ed and Liz broke their engagement during 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 7, only for them to get back together and head to the Florida Keys resort where the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off The Last Resort. Fans, however, are disappointed with "toxic" Big Ed and Liz for being a part of the cast and don't like the way the couple's therapy sessions are panning out.

Several fans let their opinions about the couple be known in the comments section of a 90 Day Fiancé Instagram post that played an audio clip of the therapists speaking. Petey Silveira and Dr. Jason Prendergast discussed the necessary foundation to sustain a long-term relationship. “Liz should not be encouraged to stay with Ed,” wrote a fan.

The 90 Day Fiancé viewer judged the therapists because they suggested Big Ed and Liz should keep working on their relationship. “This relationship is over," wrote someone else, who called Liz a “pretender.” Another fan commented, “I cannot stomach this relationship." Someone wanted to know why Big Ed and Liz are even on 90 Day: The Last Resort because they are both American and aren’t an international couple. San Diego resident Big Ed was crowned a 90 Day Fiancé villain because of the way he treated Rose. He didn’t treat Liz any differently as fans found out when leaked audio of a phone call between him and Liz was released online. Big Ed humiliated Liz on many occasions. He asked her to lose weight and claimed she was a lesbian by linking her with a female colleague. Big Ed also didn’t like Liz working night shifts, even if it was unavoidable because she was a waitress/manager at a restaurant. Surprisingly, though, Big Ed and Liz have reportedly gotten married.

It is easy to see that the 90 Day: The Last Resort therapists are doing a good job because they managed to help the couple identify their issues and work on them. The two weeks they spent at the resort worked out in Big Ed and Liz’s favor. They look like one of the most drama-free couples as of now. Big Ed even won Liz’s trust when he disclosed Jovi Dufren’s strip club plans to her. In case Big Ed and Liz’s marriage is eventually a success, it is proof that the therapists saved their doomed relationship.
