Summary

  • Phantom Liberty adds new Iconic weapons to Cyberpunk 2077 with unique effects. Some weapons are hard to find and can be missed, potentially depriving players of unique gameplay.
  • Players need to pay attention to specific quests and locations to find the hidden weapons and loot. Players should explore carefully and complete certain missions to access these weapons.
  • Some Iconic weapons can be obtained during specific quests or gigs, while others can be found in the open world.

Adding to the expansive arsenal available in the base game of Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty adds a number of new Iconic weapons to the game. While many can be found by simply playing through the DLC's story missions, the locations of others can be especially hard to pinpoint. Some weapons, for example, may only be made available through certain quests or decisions, while others might be hidden in subtle ways or placed in obscure locations. And, as Iconic weapons tend to have effects that can't be replicated by any other piece of gear, missing them may deprive a playthrough of unique gameplay.

While many of Phantom Liberty's Iconic weapons, such as Her Majesty or the Rasetsu, are given to V as part of the story or at the end of certain quests or gigs, others have to be found in the world and can potentially be missed or overlooked. As many of these weapons can only be accessed in certain quest-specific areas, missing them the first time might mean they can't be picked up later, or at least that there might not be any reason to revisit the areas where they can be found. Although some missed Iconic weapons may later turn up in Phantom Liberty's black market, this method of obtaining them is both unreliable and costly.

10 NDI Osprey

A closed weapon case with a lootable item, the NDI Osprey sniper rifle, highlighted in Cyberpunk 2077.

A Power sniper rifle that fires explosive shots and gains increased damage from killing enemies while hip-firing, the NDI Osprey is a fairly unique weapon among Cyberpunk's array of snipers, and while it's technically not difficult to find, it can very easily be missed. The weapon is only available in Alex's safehouse during the main story quest "Birds With Broken Wings," somewhat innocuously placed within a weapon case in the room's armory section. As this is an important story mission, and one where players are freely given another powerful Iconic weapon in Her Majesty, the weapon case containing the NDI Osprey is fairly easy to overlook.

9 Agaou

A body with the a lootable item, the Agaou axe, highlighted in Cyberpunk 2077.

The only Iconic axe in Cyberpunk 2077, the Agaou makes for a uniquely powerful throwing weapon, emitting an electrical explosion when it critically hits an enemy after being thrown. It can be found at an Increased Criminal Activity location around the eastern side of Dogtown, near the Luxor High Wellness Spa fast travel point. After fighting through a large group of Voodoo Boys, the group's boss, Ayo Zarin, can be found at the end, wielding the Agaou. Defeating her allows the axe to be looted, granting a powerful tool for builds centered around throwing weapons, and an alternative to the game's many knives.

8 Raiju

A compact red SMG, the Raiju, sitting in a case in Cyberpunk 2077.

Like the Agaou, the Raiju Tech SMG, which can penetrate cover without charging, can also be looted from an Increased Criminal Activity spot near just to the south of the Kress Street fast travel point, close to the building with the hideout where Myers stays for much of Phantom Liberty's story. Getting the weapon involves fighting through a fairly lengthy tunnel packed with BARGHEST forces and automated defenses and defeating their boss, Ross Ulmer. After he's been defeated, a Cache Access Card can be looted from his body, which will grant access to a room near the very end of the tunnel, where Raiju can be found sitting in a case.

7 Sparky

A sniper rifle, Sparky, sitting in a weapon case in a yellow-tinted room in Cyberpunk 2077.

Within another Increased Criminal Activity spot, inside a run-down space museum located near the Terra Cognita fast travel spot, a unique Power sniper rifle called Sparky, which emits electric bolts on headshots, can be found. Here, V will have to fight a group of Scavs, as well as a fairly threatening Arasaka Drone. After the enemies have been dealt with, Sparky can be found in a room on the right side of the building (if facing towards the building's interior from the main entrance) on the upper floor.

6 Dezerter

A closed weapon case with lootable item, the Dezerter shotgun, highlighted in Cyberpunk 2077.

The Dezerter, a Power double-barrel shotgun, is a high-risk, high-reward weapon with extremely powerful shots that have the downside of setting V on fire unless at low health, although this status also grants additional movement speed and mitigation chance. Normally, this weapon is only obtained after sparing Rinder during the gig "The Man Who Killed Jason Foreman," making it one of Phantom Liberty's best quest rewards. For those who already know the code (1975) and location of Rinder's stash, a garage located near the Terra Cognita fast travel point, the Dezerter shotgun can be accessed without doing the gig.

5 Crimestopper

A pink suitcase with a lootable item, the Crimestopper pistol, highlighted in Cyberpunk 2077.

A Smart pistol with a chance of disabling cybernetic limbs, increased crit damage, and temporarily increased crit chance after the weapon is equipped, the Crimestopper can be optionally found and picked up during the "Heaviest of Hearts" gig, which entails finding Night City D.A. Georgina Zembinsky in the Heavy Hearts club, which will eventually lead V to VIP Room 06 on one of the club's upper floors. Inside the VIP room, in the first section before confronting Zembinsky, the pistol can be found inside some luggage on the floor.

4 Volkodav

A crate in a dimly-room, with a lootable item, the Volkodav machete, highlighted.

Similarly, the Vokodav machete, which burns enemies, guarantees crits on burning enemies and increases its crit damage for every enemy that's burning, can be found during the "Waiting for Dodger" gig, which has V rescuing two police officers from a deal gone bad with BARGHEST. After finding Bill and Charles while sneaking through the lower floors of the police station with them, the Volkodav machete can be found near the part where Charles knocks over a can inside an airdrop crate in a side room — although neutralizing the guards first will likely be a higher priority.

3 Kyubi x-MOD2

An assault rifle, the Kyubi x-MOD2, resting on a square cement block underwater in Cyberpunk 2077.

A Power assault rifle, the Kyubi x-MOD2 is an iconic version of the standard Tsunami Kyubi rifle that comes with two mod slots and additional headshot damage. However, instead of being tied to any quests or gigs, the Kyubi x-MOD2 can simply be stumbled upon in Dogtown. Near the Golden Pacific fast travel point is a circular pool V can dive into. Swimming to the bottom will reveal a drowned body tied to a large concrete brick, next to which the Kyubi x-MOD2 can be obtained.

2 Cut-O-Matic x-MOD2

A chainsword, the Cut-O-Matic x-MOD2, sticking out of severed head on the ground in Cyberpunk 2077.

Another Iconic weapon that can simply be found in the world, the Cut-O-Matic x-MOD2 is a chainsword with two mod slots and a chance to set enemies on fire on hit, which can be found near the same Increased Criminal Activity spot where Sparky can be looted. Instead of heading inside the museum, finding the Cut-O-Matic xMOD2 requires going to the building's left side (if approaching the entrance), under the "trail" left by the large model rocket on top of the museum. Following the path, the weapon can be found stabbed into a severed head between two slanted support pillars.

1 Kappa x-MOD2

A bag resting on a mattress with a lootable item, the Kappa x-MOD2 pistol, highlighted.

Perhaps the hardest Iconic weapon to find in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty, the Kappa x-MOD2 comes with two mod slots, increased headshot damage & crit damage, and one-second lock-on time. The weapon is hidden in a building southwest of the Luxor High Wellness Spa fast travel point — following the south-most road from the fast travel point; the small building is to the right of the road, relatively close to where it converges. A piece of sheet metal blocks an entrance to a small room and can only be moved with 10 or more Body, granting access to the weapon — but only if the gig "Spy In The Jungle" has been completed.
