In Marvel Comics, Wolverine and Cyclops are two iconic mutants who have led their fair share of teams over the years, with their connection to the clandestine X-Force unit making them two of the most dangerous heroes fighting for the side of good. And now, in a new cosplay image, these X-Men return to the fold as reunited X-Force members who have never looked better!

Recently shared via Instagram by the Wolverine and Cyclops cosplayers in the image (@batsturd and @impostercosplay, respectively), these creative talents always impress with their inspiring live-action designs and consistent cosplay posts uploaded for their thousands of followers to see.

Dressing between the two as more than a few different comic characters like DC’s Lobo, Clayface, and Batman, and Marvel’s Spider-Man, Hellverine, and Captain America (to name a few), @batsturd and @impostercosplay have also collaborated on a handful of other pieces, effectively bringing their cosplay passions together in ways that fans can appreciate.

Uncanny X-Force Deadpool comic

Technically getting their start as a group of mutant extremists led by the time-traveling hero known as Cable, Scott Summers aka Cyclops, eventually decided to form a secret X-Force team following the events of M-Day, appointing Wolverine to take charge while in the field. Known for their covert tactics, deadly use of force, and sweet “dark mode” costume color schemes, this strike team quickly became a fan-favorite, going on to roster popular X-Men characters such as Psylocke, Warpath, Cannonball, Domino, and even the Merc with a Mouth himself, Deadpool.

Standing tall side-by-side and ready for a fight, @batsturd’s Wolverine and @impostercosplay’s Cyclops pull off their X-Force-specific grey and black outfits well, with Wolverine’s red eyes and Cyclops’ piercing red visor adding an edge to a badass image that does its comic counterparts justice. Set against the backdrop of a battle-damaged X-Force nameplate as well as some choice photoshop effects that help Wolverine and Cyclops’ design pop even more, it’s safe to say that @batsturd and @impostercosplay have nailed a look for a pair of heroes that need to wear these costumes on the comic panel far more often.

So even though the team is now more of an intelligence operation used to proactively keep Krakoa safe, seeing these X-Force-related heroes in the flesh is a treat for fans of all iterations of the team to see, especially since it’s uncertain whether X-Force will return on the big screen anytime soon. Wolverine and Cyclops’ history with X-Force is a dark and complicated one, with @batsturd and @impostercosplay’s take on these mutants giving them a live-action look that their hopeful MCU counterparts will take inspiration from!
