Screen Rant is thrilled to share an exclusive clip from Audible's new sci-fi fantasy comedy series, Third Eye. The audio series is set in a fantasy version of San Francisco and follows Laurel, a failed "Chosen One" wizard who is still struggling with the aftermath of her failure to defeat her enemy, the ultimate evil Tybus, ten years ago. She is forced to move past her ruined reputation and self-hatred to save her friends. On this new quest to face off against old enemies, she discovers shocking secrets.

Joining Laurel on this journey in Third Eye is an interesting cast of characters. This includes her roommates, Frank Fletcher, a curmudgeonly, stubborn vampire, and Sybil, an exiled Ferie princess with an attitude. Laurel also meets Kate Chen, a quirky teenage human girl on her own quest to gain more knowledge about the supernatural world, even though she knows more than even Laurel. Our almost-hero also runs across Tybus the Terrible's local enforcer, who turns out to be a constant annoyance for her. This new quest could be the opportunity Laurel needs to prove herself and earn her redemption as she tries to take down the very tyrant who took over the realm the first time she failed to defeat him.

More About Third Eye

Screen Rant's exclusive clip from Third Eye features Kate and Frank. The scene is set with an announcement about staying in the boat, which doesn't apply to water-based fantasy creatures such as Kelpie and Merpeople. Kate then asks Frank how he is able to be out in daylight given that he is a vampire. He very sarcastically shoots down her question and explains that vampires have found ways to protect themselves from the sun. Kate, undeterred, continues asking him questions about being a vampire.

Frank refuses to answer her questions and insults her voice in an attempt to stop her interrogation. Kate, in annoyance, volleys back an insult of her own. The pair arrive at Alcatraz, much to Kate's confusion, and Frank reveals a strange errand he needs to run. He explains that he's on the hunt for a rare recording from a now-outlawed practice called spirit scumming. He goes through a hidden entrance, leaving Kate behind, but not before tricking her to run full speed at a rock. The series combines sharp, witty, sarcastic humor, a fantastical take on the real world, and a different kind of hero at the center of the story.

Felicia Day created and wrote Third Eye. Day also stars in the series along with Wil Wheaton, Sean Astin, LilyPichu, Danny Pudi, Alan Tudyk, Christopher Judge, London Hughes, and many others. Third Eye also features Neil Gaiman as The Narrator.

Third Eye is exclusively on Audible and debuts today, October 5.
