A comparison of Ahsoka Tano from Star Wars: The Clone Wars highlights just how good young Ahsoka was in Ahsoka. Young Ahsoka Tano made her live-action debut in Ahsoka episode 5 when Anakin Skywalker used the World Between Words to take his Padawan back to the Clone Wars era of Star Wars. This was the debut of the Clone Wars in live-action and marked the first time Hayden Christensen donned Anakin's iconic The Clone Wars armor.

Ariana Greenblatt Is Perfect As The Young Ahsoka

Ahsoka from the episode 5 flashbacks to the Clone Wars next to Ahsoka from Clone Wars

Ariana Greenblatt took on the role of a young Ahsoka Tano for Ahsoka episode 5 and brought the same grace and snippy attitude that Ashley Eckstein has had since the character’s inception in 2008. Additionally, Greenblatt physically nailed her interpretation of Ahsoka, crossing her arms the same way and holding her lightsabers just like in the animated show. Her facial expressions and the way she interacted with Anakin felt exactly like Ahsoka from The Clone Wars. Greenblatt has shared that one of the interesting parts of her portrayal is that while she was physically Ahsoka’s younger self, her version of the character still had the older consciousness of Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka.

It's currently unclear if Greenblatt will reprise her role as a young Ahsoka Tano in Ahsoka season 2, or perhaps in Dave Filoni’s The Mandalorian-era movie. With Ahsoka having a deep connection to the World Between Worlds and the Mortis gods likely playing a role in the future, it’s possible audiences will see young Ahsoka again. Such a young Ahsoka appearance wouldn’t be like it was in Ahsoka episode 5, but it could be a flashback to Ahsoka, Anakin, and Obi-Wan Kenobi’s time on Mortis. There are still many questions surrounding Ahsoka season 2, but Greenblatt returning as a young Ahsoka Tano would be a treat.
