With Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom set to wrap up the DCEU, a new report details the chaos that took place on set, including Jason Momoa being accused of showing up drunk during filming. One of the DCEU movies that has been delayed numerous times is Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, having faced multiple reshoots due to reported test screenings scoring poorly. It wasn't until September that the first Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom trailer was released, despite the movie being a few months away from its theatrical release.

It appears there were more problems circling the movie as a new report from Variety has revealed troubling information about some of the behavior from the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom cast. The information comes from documents by Amber Heard's therapist, Dr. Dawn Hughes, with "raw notes" from their sessions. According to the trade, the notes include details from Heard that Momoa was drunk on set and dressed like Johnny Depp, and that Momoa said he wanted her fired. Director James Wan was also said to be "unsupportive" of Heard, with the notes describing him as treating Heard "like a pariah." A DC spokesperson refuted Heard's claims, saying, "Jason Momoa conducted himself in a professional manner at all times" and that Wan treats everyone on set "with the utmost respect."

The Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom drama gets even more complicated as there were attempts to fire Heard, not because of the defamation lawsuit but due to a lack of chemistry between her and Momoa. While the studio tried to fire her, they never went through with it because Heard's former boyfriend Elon Musk had his legal team send a “scorched-earth letter to Warner Bros. threatening to burn the house down" if the actress wasn't part of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. To this point, Musk didn't respond to Variety's request for a statement.

In the documents, Dr. Hughes noted how Heard had described her experience with Wan, writing, "He raised his voice @ me — ‘I can’t even post about Aquaman’ — made it like it was my fault – I said ‘I’m sorry. Nobody could take selfies with me on set given blackout.” Wan has also not commented directly, but the DC spokesperson stated, “James is known for treating members of his cast and crew with the utmost respect and for fostering a positive, collaborative environment on set — the ‘Aquaman’ films were no exception.”

With all of this drama surrounding Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, time will tell how Warner Bros. Discovery will tackle the movie during the press tour. If the SAG-AFTRA strike is over in time and the actors take part in promoting the movie, it will be interesting to see how they address these accusations. For now, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is on track to release in theaters in December.
