As part of James Gunn and Peter Safran's announcement of the DCEU's reboot into the new DC Universe, Ben Affleck was confirmed to not be returning as Bruce Wayne, a.k.a. Batman. Instead, a new actor will be assuming the role of the Caped Crusader in the DCU's The Brave and the Bold, but he won't be the only hero introduced in the upcoming film, as the project will also mark the theatrical debut of Bruce Wayne's son, Damian, a version of Robin from DC Comics.

Call Me By Your Name, Bones and All, and Dune star Timothée Chalamet has been a popular fan-cast for Robin since before the announcement that the DCEU would be rebooted, yet this has only increased following confirmation that Damian Wayne will be appearing in The Brave and the Bold. Now, fan art shared by buffy2ville imagines what Chalamet might look like in a sleek and modern Robin costume, taking inspiration from Damian Wayne in DC Comics.

Could Timothée Chalamet Be Cast As The DC Universe's Robin?

Back when Warner Bros. was planning a solo Batman project in the DCEU with Ben Affleck at the helm, Dick Grayson was rumored to be making his debut, whether as a version of Robin or as Nightwing from DC Comics. Robin's costume had previously been seen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with the sidekick presumably killed by the Joker, but the DCEU never investigated further. Timothée Chalamet had been a popular fan-cast back then, and with the announcement that a version of Robin will finally be appearing on the big screen in The Brave and the Bold, his name was thrown back in the ring.

Damian Wayne is the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul who becomes Batman's sidekick after being introduced to his father for the first time as a young boy. At 27 years old, Timothée Chalamet is likely too old to portray Damian Wayne in the DC Universe, despite how popular his fan-casting has been. However, it's likely that Chalamet would be interested in having some sort of role in the DCU, especially since he has prior experience in multi-movie franchises such as Denis Villeneuve's Dune. Chalamet would bring some of his indie movie magic to the DC Universe, whether it be in The Brave and the Bold or in another project.
