The Athan Prime Fleet Museum is home to starships from over three centuries of Starfleet history, from the early days of Captain Jonathan Archer (Scott Bakula) to the epoch-shifting events of the Dominion War. In essence, Geordi is the most important Starfleet Commodore because he oversees the most legendary starships of the past 300 years. Although they're installed as museum pieces, Commodore La Forge is responsible for an impressive fleet that includes the USS Defiant, the USS Voyager, the Enterprise NX-01, and the USS Enterprise-A.

At the end of Star Trek: Picard season 3, Geordi commanded the USS Enterprise-D during its final battle against the Borg. If Geordi's exhibits are kept separate from the technological upgrades to the rest of the Starfleet Armada, then they could be an invaluable resource should the fleet be compromised again in the future.

The ships in the museum are not just historic artifacts, they're an in-reserve fleet of the best ships that Starfleet has ever produced. The Borg threat may have been extinguished once and for all, but there are always new dangers lurking out in the darkness of space. It's therefore comforting to know that Star Trek: Picard's Starfleet Museum, and its legendary Commodore, Geordi La Forge have a fleet of starships ready to face what new threats face the Federation in the 25th century.
