A new trailer for Thanksgiving has just dropped, pulling back the curtain on Eli Roth's bloody upcoming horror flick. Thanksgiving began life as a fake movie trailer in Grindhouse, Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's 2007's double feature project, which includes the former's Death Proof and the latter's Planet Terror. 16 years later, Roth has turned the trailer into a feature-length movie, telling the story of a Thanksgiving-inspired killer who terrorizes the residents of Plymouth, Massachusetts, the holiday's birthplace.

Now, ahead of Thanksgiving's release date later this fall, IGN has shared a full-length red band trailer for the film, revealing more about the story and teasing its abundance of bloody kills. What The Thanksgiving Trailer Reveals About The Movie

Patrick Dempsey as a cop with his mouth agape in Thanksgiving.

Much like the original trailer teased back in 2007's Grindhouse, the new trailer for Thanksgiving promises that Roth's upcoming horror flick will be a bloody affair. As for the movie's general premise, the trailer reveals that the story is set after a Black Friday sale riot in which one or more townsfolk ended up dead. A mysterious figure named John Carver, who is dressed as a pilgrim, then seemingly sets out to punish the entire town, with his sights set on one group in particular.

The new trailer also provides the best look yet at the Thanksgiving cast. This includes Patrick Demspey as the local police chief, with Rick Hoffman, Gina Gershon, Milo Manheim, Addison Rae, Karen Cliche, Shailyn Griffin, Nell Verlaque, Chris Sandiford, and Tim Dillon, among others, seemingly serving as Carver's potential victims.

While the latest Thanksgiving trailer does affirm that the movie won't be short on gory moments, it also suggests that the horror flick won't have an overly grim tone. The general premise, after all, feels like a darkly comedic jab at the horrors of modern consumerism. It remains to be seen if Roth's Thanksgiving will live up to the hype, but the latest trailer is certainly a promising sign.
