The first of the month always sees the largest amount of titles being added to Hulu so October 1 will have a great variety of new additions to enjoy. As expected there are a lot of horror titles being added to kick off the Halloween month celebrations, including one of the strangest horror franchises of all time. The Leprechaun movies rank from solid B-movie horror to self-aware fun to absurd and the entire series will be coming to Hulu to kick off October. The main series of movies stars Warwick Davis as an evil leprechaun who takes brutal revenge on those who steal his precious gold.

Some other notable horror movies being added include Exorcism Of Emily Rose, Interview with a Vampire, Shaun of the Dead, Doctor Sleep as well as It: Chapter 2 and the 1990 version of It. On the television side, fans can also enjoy the entire Ash vs. Evil Dead series. Despite the first of the month sticking with the trend of a lot of new titles to kick off the month, October 2 also have a huge new offering of shows coming to Hulu. Most notable, this day will mark the return of the fan-favorite animation block of shows with new seasons of The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob's Burgers beginning. This will set the stage for The Simpsons' latest Treehouse of Horrors annual Halloween special that fans can expect to hit later this month.

There will also be a huge collection of reality television coming to Hulu on October 2 in a variety of genres. For true crime fans, there are new shows like Who Killed Tupac?, Murder on Maple Drive, and Beyond the Headlines. October 5 will include the addition of a recent horror hit. The Boogeyman is based on a Stephen King short story and follows two sisters dealing with the death of their mother who notice an evil presence tormenting them in their home which is going unnoticed by their grieving father. The Boogeyman monster is a memorable addition to the horror genre while strong performances and an effectively creepy atmosphere add to all the chills and thrills.

October 6 will see the addition of a varied collection of content coming to Hulu. Hulu subscribers can check out an underseen comedy thriller on the platform on October 7. A Lot of Nothing follows a perfect married couple whose ordinary life is thrown into chaos when they witness their neighbor commit a crime. The premise is reminiscent of a Coen Brothers dark comedy in which ordinary people find themselves in over their heads.

October 8

October 8 will see two smaller movies with big names coming to Hulu. The Billy Crystal movie Standing Up, Falling Down sees the legendary comedian playing a charming yet troubled alcoholic who strikes up a friendship with a struggling standup comedian (Ben Schwartz). Also arriving on this day is the animated family adventure Swift (also known as Birds of a Feather) which features the voice talents of Kate Winslet and Willem Dafoe in the story of a young bird trying to find out where he belongs.

October 9

• The Mill: Film Premiere

Hulu will be adding a new intriguing sci-fi movie on October 9 with The Mill. Though Lil Rel Howery is mostly known for his comedic roles like Vacation Friends and Free Guy, he takes on a more serious role in The Mill. He plays a man awaiting the birth of his child who wakes up one morning and finds himself the sole captive of an open-air prison where he is forced to operate a grist mill.

• Finnick, 2022

Another family-friendly animated movie is coming to Hulu on October 10. Finnick is a Russian movie about critters known as finns that hide away in people's homes and take care of things without the occupants knowing. The story follows one of these critters named Finn who is more interested in setting pranks and scaring off homeowners until a new family moves in.

• Heartland Docs, DVM: Season 5 Premiere

One of the more charming reality shows out there is returning to Hulu on October 11. Heartland Docs, DVM is set in a quaint rural Nebraska community with the show following a husband and wife who operate as the local veterinarians. It can be a heartwarming show as well as an intense show, but always an interesting exploration of these everyday heroes.

Also arriving on this day is the biopic Daliland starring Ben Kingsley as the famous surrealist artist Salvador Dalí.

October 13

• Goosebumps: Series Premiere

One of the most anticipated new shows of the month is arriving on Hulu on October 13. Goosebumps adapts the classic R.L. Stine novels in a tale of a group of high school students who unleash supernatural forces on their town and then must figure out how to save the day. The movie is inspired by the family-friendly movies that starred Jack Black but they promise to be a bit spookier, aiming for a lighter version of Stranger Things. Also arriving on October 13 is the thriller Nocebo starring Eva Green and Mark Strong.

October 14

• Empire of Light, 2022

An Oscar-winning director and Oscar-winning actor team up for an overlooked movie that will get a second chance on Hulu on October 14. Empire of Light stars Olivia Colman as a cinema manager in the 1980s who finds a sense of belonging with her young employee who is looking for a way to escape the oppressive and prejudice life of their small community. Sam Mendes directed this movie following the success of 1917. While it didn't catch on upon its release, perhaps the drama will find a more accepting audience on Hulu.

The movie follows a little boy who begins hearing knocks in the walls of his house and suspects it has something to do with his sinister parents, played by Lizzy Caplan and The Boys' Anthony Starr. It is a creepy and atmospheric entry that could be a perfect Halloween watch.

For the last day of the month of October, one of the most popular documentaries of all time is coming to Hulu. Jiro Dreams of Sushi follows an 8-year-old sushi master in Tokyo as he perfects his craft while his young son prepares to one day step into his father's position with a great deal of pressure. The movie is a mesmerizing look at someone who is an expert in their trade while also being a stirring relationship story.
