Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams may not seem like the most obvious comedy duo but they proved great together in Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga. The two star as friends and aspiring musicians who believe they have found the opportunity to realize their dreams in the biggest song competition in the world. 29 Friends With Benefits (2011)

In 2011, former pop star Justin Timberlake and That 70s Show star Mila Kunis were branching out into the world of rom coms and what resulted was the 2011 movie Friends with Benefits. The movie sees the two star as platonic friends, Jamie and Dylan, who entered into a casual sex relationship with no commitments. 28 Ride Along (2014)

Ice Cube found an interesting place in the comedy movie genre, and he ended up as a perfect foil for funnyman Kevin Hart in the 2014 movie Ride Along. This buddy cop movie saw Ice Cube play an undercover detective who doesn't like the guy that his little sister has planned to marry. He decides to take this man (Hart) on a ride along, so he can prove he is worthy of his sister's hand in marriage. However, what he never expected is that they would end up dealing with some hardcore criminals and a dangerous case where they bond in more ways than one. Hart won the Teen's Choice Award for Choice Movie Actor - Comedy.

27 Death At A Funeral (2010)

Death at a Funeral is a remake of a British comedy of the same name that featured an ensemble cast of some of the best comic actors working in 2010. The movie features a funeral for a man, and when his estranged family shows up, all hell breaks loose. It also doesn't help when someone shows up to blackmail the family with incriminating photos of the deceased. The cast included Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence, Regina Hall, Zoe Saldana, Keith David, Kevin Hart, James Marsden, Tracy Morgan, Danny Glover, Peter Dinklage, Loretta Devine, Luke Wilson, and Columbus Short.

26 Miss Congeniality (2000)

Sandra Bullock went from her roles in action movies to a series of comedies in the 2000s and one of her best comedies on Netflix is the 2000 movie Miss Congeniality. In this movie, Bullock stars as Gracie Hart, a special agent for the FBI who is sent in undercover to the Miss United States beauty pageant to find a domestic terrorist. The twist here is that Gracie is someone who has no care in the world for the beauty aspects of the pageant and is woefully unprepared for what that entails. Cameos by William Shatner and Candice Bergen help this comedy rise above the rest an it even picked up a Golden Globes nomination.

25 Murder Mystery (2019)

Adam Sandler entered into a deal with Netflix to bring his brand of comedy to the streaming service. One of the best comedies on Netflix is from Sandler and features him and Jennifer Aniston as a husband and wife duo who become private investigators thanks to a murder they encounted while on vacation in Europe. While Sandler's movies on Netflix have been hit-and-miss, this was easily his most successful release for the streaming giant, and even picked up a sequel that was just as funny as the original. While the movie doesn't have the best reviews, fans loved it and it picked up several People's Choice Awards nominations.

24 Ted 2 (2012)

The mind behind Family Guy turned to the big screen in the R-rated comedy Ted. Seth MacFarlane wrote and directed the movie while providing the voice of Ted, a teddy bear who came to life by a young boys wish. The movie follows what happens when the boy grows up (played by Mark Wahlberg) and the bear becomes his foul-mouthed and lazy drinking buddy. Like Family Guy, the sequel, Ted 2, doesn't have much of a story and relies more on rapid-fire jokes and pop culture references, but the result is a movie that pulls off its hilarious premise.

23 Sausage Party (2016)

Sausage Party is an adult-animated comedy from the minds of Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, and Evan Goldberg. The movie takes place in a supermarket where all the food is anthropomorphic and believe that the humans who buy them are gods who take them to the Great Beyond where everything is great. None know they are meant to be consumed. This leads to a love story between a sausage and a bun, and a story that involves enough sexual innuendo and situations - between food - that it ended up rated R. It was also a huge success, and became the highest-grossing R-rated animated movie of all time.

22 Always Be My Maybe (2016)

The romantic comedy genre is huge on Netflix though many of those entries can feel like the same story told again and again. That makes it all the more refreshing when a movie like Always Be My Maybe comes along to breathe new life into the genre. Randall Park and Ali Wong star as two childhood friends who always avoided a romantic relationship only to reunite later in life and consider what could be. The movie's biggest strengths are Park and Wong in the lead roles, having great chemistry and comedic timing together. However, a scene-stealing cameo by Keanu Reeves makes it even better.

21 Dope (2015)

Coming-of-age comedies can be a great mix of nostalgia and big laughs. Dope pulls off both quite well in the story of Malcolm, a smart but ostracized young man at a tough Los Angeles school whose plan to follow a girl to a secret party leads him on an unexpected and dangerous journey. The movie does have some heavier themes to address in terms of the struggles these young characters face, but it also takes Malcolm from one surreal experience to another with a fast-paced energy to go along with the sense of humor.

Dolemite Is My Name is based on the true story of Rudy Ray Moore, who pioneered the rap and comedy world before gathering a misfit group of talented folks to make his own movie called Dolemite. Murphy perfectly inhabits the role of this hilarious and lovable dreamer who wants to represent his fans with a movie made for them which unexpectedly catches on with millions. There is a lot of heart in the movie, but it never forgets to be a comedy first and Murphy landed a Golden Globe nomination for his performance.

19 She’s Gotta Have It (1986)

Spike Lee's movies are often some of the greatest of all time, including Do the Right Thing and BlacKkKlansman. Though his feature film career started with the very low-budget romantic comedy She Gotta Have It, there were clear signs of his talent from the beginning. 18 The Cable Guy (1996)

15 Liar Liar (1997)

Jim Carrey has a unique and brilliant comedic style that was perhaps used best in the comedy Liar Liar. Carrey plays a dishonest lawyer whose young son is fed up with all the broken promises and makes a wish that his dad can't tell a lie again. Seeing Carrey embrace his most over-the-top qualities in a mad-cap performance is a thrill to behold and the clever premise sets up one hilarious situation after another. Though Carrey has proven himself a skilled dramatic actor, performances like this deserve just as much praise.

14 Anchorman (2004)

Anchorman was one of the highlights of the relationship between WIll Ferrell and Adam McKay in the 2000s. In this movie, Farrell plays Ron Burgundy, a famous San Diego anchorman who rules his position but then finds his grip slipping when paired with a new female partner on the air in Christina Applegate's Veronica. What really helps the movie stand out other than Ferrell's great performance is the supporting cast, and in particular Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, and David Koechner. The movie spawned a sequel that was not quite up to the standards of the original, but this remains one of the best comey movies on Netflix.

13 Zombieland (2009)

Mixing horror and comedy can be difficult but the result can be so much fun. Zombieland is proof of that as the movie takes place in America overrun by a zombie outbreak. It follows a winning cast of Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin as a group of survivors who form a pseudo-family and try to have fun with the world crumbling around them. The movie is a bloody affair, but the scares are kept minimal, relying more on a fun and surprisingly upbeat tone with a cast that improves it even more. The sequel isn't on Netflix but is still worth a watch.

Like Zombieland, The Mitchells vs The Machines manages to tell a hilarious story of fun and family about the end of the world. The animated comedy follows a family who attempts to push aside their issues and take a cross-country road trip only for the robot takeover of the world to turn it into a dangerous adventure. From the minds behind the Spider-Verse movies, The Mitchells vs The Machines is one of the most exciting animated movies in recent memory as well as being a thrilling action adventure with spectacular sequences. The fact that it will also have the whole family laughing out loud means it is the perfect all-ages experience.

11 Hunt For The Wilderpeople (2016)

Taika Waitit movies have grown into the giant blockbusters of the Thor movies and the upcoming Star Wars movie, but Hunt for the Wilderpeople shows the kind of exciting adventure he can make on a smaller scale. Set in New Zealand, it follows a young orphan who goes to live with a couple of an isolated farm. When his new mother dies and social services doesn't trust his foster dad to care for him, the two set out into the wilderness to evade the authorities. The adventure has a lot of heart but avoids being overly sentimental. Instead, Waititi's dry and quirky sense of humor guides the entertaining ride.
