Frozen 3 is still years away, but Disney has teased some details about the sequel's story by way of the new Frozen: Forces of Nature podcast series. Two of the highest-grossing animated movies of all time, Frozen and its first feature-length sequel, Frozen II, captured the imagination of children everywhere with the magical Elsa and her adoring and kind sister Anna. In addition to the two features, there have been several shorts, tie-in stories, and even a Lego special that continued to expand the world of Frozen.

Recently, Disney announced that a new project that is a direct continuation of Frozen II will be released as an audio adventure in the form of a new podcast series titled Frozen: Forces of Nature (via Collider). Details about the new project are scarce, but there are a couple of things that can be gleaned from what has been revealed so far. Thanks to the official logline and a few other aspects of the podcast, it's possible to predict a few details about the Frozen 3 story.

5 Anna Is Definitely Still The Queen Of Arendelle

At the end of Frozen II, Elsa decided to abdicate the throne in order to explore her new identity as the bridge, aka the fifth elemental spirit of nature. As a result, Anna became Queen of Arendelle, joined by her new husband, King Kristoff. This will continue to be the case in Frozen: Forces of Nature, and as Anna becomes more familiar and comfortable in her role as Queen, it is almost certain that this will remain the case during Frozen 3.

4 There Will Be New Characters In Frozen 3

Along with the beloved cast of characters made popular in the first two movies, Frozen 3 will feature new characters who could potentially be introduced first in the audio series Frozen: Forces of Nature. A number of visitors come to the kingdom of Arendelle seeking help and guidance, while others come to seek forgiveness. This means that Anna will have a lot of official and royal duties to attend to, which are likely to be disturbed by the spirits of nature and other antics that may get in the way of her royal responsibilities.

One visitor to Arendelle is Disa, the Queen of Sankerhus. Disa's father, the former King, has recently passed, and so she has traveled to Arendelle seeking help from Anna and her community. Sankerhus is frequently prone to flooding, which may see Disa trying to obtain help from Elsa and her accompanying nature spirits to help change the conditions and protect her kingdom from further natural disasters. As a keen devotee of science and knowledge, Disa is hoping to share her discoveries with the Arendellians in return for help with her struggles.

Along with Queen Disa, another visitor, Lord Wolfgang joins her party to visit the neighboring kingdom. Wolfgang is the nephew of the Duke of Weselton, who appeared in Frozen, and is seeking to make amends for his uncle's terrible actions. The logline for the Frozen: Forces of Nature series does describe him as "skulking" around the kingdom of Arendelle, so it's possible he may have more in common with his uncle than he leads people to believe. These characters may debut in the new audio series, but it's likely that they will go on to play some sort of role in the sequel that it is laying the groundwork for.

3 The Spirits Of Nature Are Still Present In Frozen 3

Frozen 2 Elsa and Ice Horse

The spirits that played a central role in Frozen II will continue to appear in Frozen 3 as is evidenced by their central role in the Frozen: Forces of Nature audio series. The water horse, the fire salamander, Gale, aka the element of wind, and the Earth Giants were shown at the conclusion of Frozen II roaming free and interacting with the kingdom of Arendelle. Elsa's role as Frozen's new fifth element connecting humans and magic is clearly still established and allows the connection between realms to thrive.

In Frozen: Forces of Nature, these same spirits begin acting up. There appears to be some form of threat to the natural balance between these forces, and it's up to Anna and Elsa to fix it. Frozen 3 will certainly show the spirits of nature as Elsa's very existence is now tied closely to theirs, and she has a responsibility to protect the connection so that people don't grow afraid of the natural magic that was lost before.

2 There May Be A New Threat For Anna & Elsa In Frozen 3

Elsa, Hans, and Anna in Disney's Frozen

Each installment of the Frozen franchise has seen some sort of threat to the relationship of the sisters, their kingdom, or the people of Arendelle, and Frozen 3 will be no different. Calling back to earlier threats that came from external royal dignitaries or the sisters' own ancestors, and their fear of the unknown that severed the link between man and magic, it makes sense for the Frozen: Forces of Nature series to develop a new antagonist from some sort of combination of those that came before.

In Frozen: Forces of Nature, it appears there will be mysterious copper machines appearing in the Enchanted Forest. These machines disturb the natural order of things and the spirits are acting out as a result of their presence in the magical wood. Where these machines have come from and who exactly put them there is unclear, but there are potential culprits visiting Arendelle, such as Lord Wolfgang. It seems more likely to be a threat from something a little different, but he could play some small part in the disruption being caused to the elementals and their adjoining kingdom.

1 Frozen 3 May See The Return Of The Enchanted Forest

Olaf in Frozen 2

Considering its central role in Frozen: Forces of Nature, it makes sense that the Enchanted Forest will also make a return appearance in Frozen 3. The Enchanted Forest was once the home to the Northuldra people, who were betrayed by the people of Arendelle. Anna and Elsa's grandfather wanted the mysterious group that communicated with magical beings and was aided by their power out of his way.

The Enchanted Forest is no longer the home of the Northuldrans, but it remains home to the magical spirits that now share their life with Elsa, and it would make sense for it to be included in the next movie as well. The Frozen: Forces of Nature audio series will deal with Anna and Elsa traveling into the Enchanted Forest to understand what is disturbing the spirits and where the threat is coming from. Whether this part of the series will lead into Frozen 3 is unknown, but it will be a worthwhile listen in the meantime while waiting for more details about the next feature sequel.
